It is human nature to avoid situations, activities, and things that cause fear. It may suppress anxiety in the short term, but this can worsen your fears over time. Even a thought of that fear can lead to panic attacks.
Exposure therapy exposes you to the stimuli in a safe environment to uncover your inner reservoir of courage and resilience. You feel like the weight of fear is gradually reducing and getting replaced by a growing sense of empowerment.
