As someone who has suffered from an anxiety disorder for nearly 10 years, it’s amazing to see the support provided by charities like No Panic these days. There are often not enough resources to be able to support young people suffering from anxiety disorders and other mental health struggles. These are the reasons why I was inspired to create www.zortex.co.uk/anxiety-support
I first started suffering with anxiety when I was 16. At the time, I had no idea what was happening to me or why I was feeling the way that I was. After speaking to my GP, I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder (mainly social anxiety and agoraphobia). Fortunately, I had the opportunity to speak to a psychologist who gave me plenty of useful tips to start me on my journey to overcoming anxiety, an opportunity that not everybody has. However, it wasn’t a straightforward road… I had numerous counselling sessions over the years, CBT and sessions with psychologists. I also read numerous books on dealing with anxiety. Despite having a severe anxiety disorder, I managed to get through school and even managed to go to university to get a degree in computing. Because of my experience with anxiety, I started creating content to offer help to those who need it quickly, with the aim of making it straight and to the point. There are practical tips to deal with the symptoms of anxiety as well as information on how to overcome it in the long run. Getting the right support is essential when trying to overcome anxiety disorders.
Because of my struggles, I hope to be able to help others experiencing similar difficulties. Please take a look through the content I’ve made available at www.zortex.co.uk/anxiety-support where there are quick-help leaflets, blog posts on managing anxiety as well as weekly videos with tips (which are also available on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeTenBtwMEHrclb7nVG-6qw ).
